WONDER WOMEN
NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR THE 2019 PAINT & PANEL/IAG WOMEN IN COLLISION AWARDS
THE WOMEN IN COLLISION
awards, now in their fifth year, were created to recog- nise the outstanding contribu- tion women make to what is un-
doubtedly a male dominated industry. From shop owners to technicians in the workshop and every conceivable role in between, there are women who are the backbone of successful autobody businesses across the country. Last year we created a new category for women
who work in industry suppliers.
It’s time to nominate a talented, de- termined, successful woman who makes a positive impact on your auto- body repair facility for the 2019 Women
in Collision awards.
Winners will be profiled in the maga-
zine and presented their awards at the Women in Collision seminar in Novem- ber. Members of the Women in Collision closed Facebook group (please join if you haven't already) voted for Queens- land as the venue for the this year's sem- inar. The Facebook group now has over
170 members who regularly share knowledge and opinions.
Two winners will be picked in four categories; you'll find the information in our Women in Collision section on the Paint & Panel website:
• Female technician/estimator
• Admin/reception/customer service/
parts manager
• Industry supplier representative
The 2019 winners are selected by the previous year’s winners. Entrants can be nominated by their colleagues or nominate themselves. The nominee or nominator must fill out a Survey Mon-
key form telling us all about the wom- an’s role in the business and why she deserves to win. Finalists will be flown (where appropiate) to the venue for the seminar and award presentation and will make up the 2020 judging panel.
NOMINATED BEFORE?
If you have nominated someone be- fore and they were not selected as a finalist please nominate again. It’s a different panel of judges each year and maybe you just needed to add a bit more detail to the Survey Monkey judging form.
20 YEARS AT WALLABY CRASH SUPPLIES
Kate Zovi, one of the 2018 Women in Collision winners, is celebrating 20 years at Wallaby Crash Supplies.
“I can’t believe it’s been 20 years since a very softly spoken Kate Zovi started at Wal- laby Crash Supplies,” said owner Jim Crisp. “Over her 20 years we have seen a great deal of change and the open exchange of opinions in the workplace where I arrive with mine and go away with hers.
“Kate has been an integral part in driving the company to the successful business it is today. I feel very lucky to call Kate a mate so thank you for all the your hard work, generos-
ity and contagious enthusiasm over the last 20 years. We appreciate all you bring to Wal- laby but most of all we appreciate you. Look- ing forward to working together as we have so much more to achieve,” he said.
Kate’s role in the company is to manage the day to day running of the business as well as a lot of behind the scenes work that isn’t always noticed but helps make the business run smoothly.
She was nominated for the Women in Colli- sion awards by her co-workers who clearly love working alongside her. Congratulations from the Paint & Panel team too.
