Innovative Products 2019
New range boasts plenty of
great features
MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC HAS ANNOUNCED THE RELEASE OF A NEW AIR CONDITIONING CASSETTE, MINI VRF WITH REDUCED HEIGHT AND THE NEXT-GENERATION OF CITY MULTI VARIABLE REFRIGERANT FLOW TO ITS COLLECTION AHEAD OF SUMMER 2018.
THE NEW AIR conditioning products feature improved essential functions and energy-saving requirements to make a positive impact on the cost of staying cool as the heat climbs, according to Atesh Mani, national product manager, Mit- subishi Electric Australia.
The MLZ-KP series ceiling mounted air condi- tioning unit is ideal for rooms where wall space is not available for mounted air conditioners.
“This is likely to be popular among inner- city Australians who own new-build apart- ments, offices or restaurants with a clean de- sign. It’s perfect for applications where walls that can’t be penetrated for refrigerant pipe- work and electrical work, such as those made from glass, stone or concrete, or in heritage listed buildings,” he said.
Other feature highlights include: horizon- tal airflow and compact design (the unit is designed to fit between standard 450mm centred joists and the 185mm high slim body design enables installation in restricted ceil- ing spaces).
Mitsubishi Electric has also launched new single-fan air conditioning units to offer the
market all of the benefits of Variable Refriger- ant Flow (VRF) in the company’s smallest ever City Multi chassis. Known as mini-VRF, these systems provide multi-room heating or cooling for projects under 20kW and offer better effi- ciency, flexibility and controllability when com- pared to multi-split systems.
“In today’s property developments where noise, location and building design aesthetics pose a challenge, the new PUMY-SP with its reduced height (less than a metre), is a highly attractive op- tion,” Mani said. “Developers can mix and match different indoor units from our M Series, Mr Slim and City Multi VRF range, including our stylish new wall mounted units to provide complete de- sign flexibility. The reduced height of unit means it will blend into its surroundings and in particu- lar balcony installations.”
Lightweight and compact in size. This is a 27% reduction in height and 25% reduction in weight, allowing it to be installed in locations where the unit is required to be unobtrusive, such as balconies.
“Design the perfect air conditioning system utilising combinations of different capacities and types including wall mounted, floor standing, ceiling cassette, bulk-
head and ducted units,” Mani said. Moreover, the outdoor unit allows piping from any four directions; front, back, bottom, or right. This en- ables easier horizontal connection
for collective layout.
The noise level can be reduced up
to 10dB(A).

that delivers ultra-quiet noise levels, an in- creased performance and a reduced footprint.
The new structural design has a four-sided heat exchanger design and improved core com- ponents, such as compressor and fan, signifi- cantly improving energy-saving performance. Compared to the existing models, all the single modules in YNW Series have an improved En- ergy Efficiency Ratio (EER). The low-noise mode which conventionally only had one pat- tern has been increased to four patterns so that a mode can be selected from a total of five pat- terns. In the new model, the four-sided heat ex- changer is mounted on the upper part of the module near the fan. This allows air to be taken in effectively increasing the heat exchanger ef- ficiency. At the same time single modules of up to 56kW have been added to the R2-Series. Sin- gle modules are smaller, with L modules replac- ing the EP400 and P450 modules, reducing in- stallation space by approximately 29%.
The unique City Multi heat recovery two- pipe option also allows for phased installation, meaning that the cooling and heating system can be installed around a project build, with in- dividual sections commissioned as required. Visit: www.mitsubishielectric.com.au. ✺
