HVACR Leadership Awards
Male Rising Star Award
winner is a true technician
WINNER OF THE MALE RISING STAR AWARD AND ENGIE SERVICES TECHNICIAN, MITCHELL BEATTIE, IS A MECHANICALLY-MINDED FIX IT MAN.
Rising Star, Mitchell Beattie accepts his award.
BELOW: (L to R) Award winner, Mitchell Beattie, ABB’s Paul Burrows and CCN’s Sandra Van Dijk.
HE LOVES BEING a service technician and col- leagues brag about his exceptional skills.
They claim he excels at chiller fault finding and fine-tuning for maximum efficiency which is why customers are routinely singing his praises.
But it isn't just his technical ability that makes him a Rising Star, its his dedication and commit- ment to a job well-done.
Beattie's idea of a big weekend is being called to Singapore Friday night to commission new Quantum water cooled chillers and by Sunday he is in Singapore at a new site leak testing a damaged chiller.
This is in addition to providing customers with value add-ons and energy saving tips which might explain all the positive appraisals from happy clients.
Beattie began his apprenticeship at Trilogy be- fore moving to Engie.
His interest in acquiring new skills and apply- ing his new-found knowledge as a technician is
the driver behind his focus on upskilling and the ongoing tuition.
He is passionate about putting himself at the forefront of new technology.
Beattie isn't exactly an old-timer but his ability means he is going on-site for a range of custom- ers and assisting their technicians to ensure they also deliver great results.
According to his employer, it isn't just his skills that make him exceptional, Beattie takes on eve- ry task and request without complaint and best of all, customers are always 100% satisfied.
Now that's a good result. “Mitch is a person who absorbs knowledge to succeed in his profes- sion. He also assists younger members coming through even though he is only 26 years old,” his manager says.
“His is passionate about delivering maximum efficiency from the units he is working on.
“For someone who is still so young in the trade, it is remarkable.” ✺
