FAST CURE WITH DUAL-MIX
SEM Products’ new range of Dual-Mix 2K Seam Sealers feature next-gen, fast curing 2K technology. By curing in a matter of minutes, not hours, SEM Products’ high-tech Dual-Mix 2K seam sealers give repairers all-new opportunities to reduce cycle-time and increase productivity without compromising quality. Where slow cure times of traditional 1K seam sealers forced repairers into inefficient, stop-start practices, the Dual-Mix 2K seam sealer range is about breaking this ‘it’s-always-been-done-this-way’ mould by taking advantage of the super quick drying, two pack technology, says Kurt Way, PPG Category Manager, Associated Products.

waterborne paint overspray builds up on the filter. This causes the filter to flatten and lose its loft. Therefore, the paint loads on the sur- face of the filter, prematurely clogging it, and requiring it to be changed far more often to maintain airflow.

UVA LED CURED CLEAR
Illawarra Coatings was established in 1997 to manufacture and supply waterborne epoxy coating systems to the construction industry. Following a market request in 2016, work commenced on a range of UVA LED cured systems for automotive refinish which resulted in the release of the EcoLux R range of products in 2018.
The EcoLux R Series currently consists of three products groups: scratch and chip filler; spray primer and clear top coats. All systems are one component and have been designed to cure with the UVA LED lamps. It takes just 90- 120 seconds of UV exposure, depending on pan- el size, to fully cure offering a significant reduc- tion in preparation and process time. UV cured products and UV LED lights were originally de- veloped for small area repair, but it is now pos- sible to spray and cure full panels with UV cured clear coat and UV primer.
Lowbake has developed a UV LED curing sys- tem which has been designed and fitted to its IR Gas arch. EcoLux R UV system needs no hard- eners - just shake and spray. There's no wast- age, it has a long shelf life even when opened, application is fast, it produces an excellent gloss and very fast curing. Sensitive sub- strates not affected as no heat is being gener- ated in curing mode.
