                 Chillers
MTA HAS ADDED new air cooled chillers, de- signed for use with lower GWP refrigerant R454B, to its established Taurus and Aries series.
With hermetic scroll compressors, the new Taurus G and Aries G models cover cooling ca- pacities from 73 to 867kW. They both boast high seasonal efficiencies in accordance with ERP di- rective Tier 2 requirements. Quiet SHE and very quiet SSN versions are available.
R454B is a Chemours refrigerant branded as Opteon XL41. An A2L refrigerant, it is a blend of R32 and R1234yf with a GWP of 466.
The Taurus G comes standard with plate evaporator (optional shell & tube evaporator), V configuration condenser coils, and electronic ex- pansion valves.
The Aries G standard features include shell & tube evaporator, V configuration condenser

coils, electronic expansion valves. Also available is a low water temperature version MWT for out- let water temperature down to -10C.
Both the Taurus G and Aries G meet current MEPs requirements and can be optioned with a wide range of accessories, kits and versions, in- cluding EC Fans, heat recovery, integrated buffer tanks & choice of single or dual pumps.
In addition, kits are available for supervi- sion and remote control, including the xWEB300D monitoring system and modules for master-slave operation of up to eight systems as accessories.

Chiller refresh plans for Hong Kong
Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat.
GOVERNMENT AGENCIES IN Singapore will be undertaking a chiller refresh as part of re- cently announced sustainability goals for the public sector.
As part of the Singapore Green Plan 2030 the government will switch to chillers that use re- frigerants with low global warming potential.
Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat said the initiative, known as GreenGov.SG is part of the Singapore Green Plan 2030, which was an- nounced to fight climate change.
"This gives renewed focus to the public sector's contribution towards national sustainability goals, and reminds all public officers that sustain- ability must be at the core of our work,” he said.
The Green Plan, announced last month, is a
blueprint that outlines all of Singapore's sustain- ability efforts to reach the nation's long-term goal of net zero emissions as soon as possible.
The chiller refresh will begin at the Ministry of National Development (MND), Home Team Academy and Temasek Polytechnic.
Temasek Polytechnic's School of Engineering will be replacing five old and inefficient chillers at a cost of about $4.25 million.
Last year, the National Environment Agency said it would be progressively phasing out cool- ing equipment that use refrigerants with high global warming potential for household and commercial use, and would ban the supply of certain air-conditioners and chillers from the fourth quarter of next year.
