Compressors, Condensers & Evaporators
CO2 cascade refrigeration system.
Hillphoenix's CO2One condensing unit of- fers either a single-condensing or split-system configuration with low- and medium-temper- ature options.
Its multipurpose design works with smaller footprint stores, walk-in cooler/freezers, phased remodels as well as stores that use a distributed refrigeration architecture.
"The CO2One product is flexible in that it can be used for supplemental or additional ca- pacity in a store," Sharma. said
"It pairs well with a distributed CO2 system, offering incremental increases in capacity. The CO2One can also be applied to an existing store which is installing an additional case lineup or walk-in cooler/freezer."
“IT WORKS WELL FOR STORES THAT USE A DISTRIBUTED REFRIGERATION ARCHITECTURE.”
The CO2One single-condensing system uses variable-speed compression to match the de- mand from the existing system with an on- board controller to manage the high-side op- eration of the condensing unit.
The split system has the same features as the condensing unit with the addition of a unit cooler and controls package to regulate box temperatures and defrost.
Either configuration lends itself to a future- focused solution based upon the current eco- nomic and environmental benefits of CO2. In addition, CO2One can be located closer to loads, which means less piping and wiring in the field and reduced potential for leaks, pro- viding additional benefits to customers.
Growing range of CO2 units
PANASONIC HEATING & Cooling Solutions has expanded its CR Series line-up of cold chain condensing units with the addition of the medi- um- and low-temperature 4HP units.
This growing range of refrigeration solu- tions, powered by the CO2 natural refriger- ant, now provides cooling capacities from 2kW to 16kW.
The units can be used for a variety of refrigera- tion applications including chilled cabinets, cold rooms and freezers in food retail, hotels, conven- ience stores, gas stations, healthcare (such as pharmaceutical laboratories), industrial (food processing etc.) and warehouses.
“IT ALSO HAS HEAT RECOVERY CAPABILITIES.”
Panasonic’s two-stage rotary compressor technology is designed to withstand extreme conditions, whilst also delivering high efficiency and powerful operation.
Additionally, the compact unit can operate with noise levels as low as 33 dB(A). This should make it suitable for displaying chilled and fro- zen goods in customer areas to maintain a comfortable environment.
Furthermore, the operating range for this se- ries has been improved to operate in outdoor temperatures as low as -20oC.
The unit has a piping length up to 50m for flexible installation in a variety of settings.

Moreover, it has a multi-evaporator connection, 7L inner receiver, and easy duct installation thanks to its one fan design, ready with static pressure of 50Pa.
The units also arrive equipped with an inner connection for the pressure relief valve (PRV) that allows users to leave the PRV inside the unit, or extend the pipe outside the unit. Also, the new model comes with both the suction fil- ter and filter dryer to facilitate its installation and correct operation.
The solution utilises natural CO2 refrigerant which is not toxic or flammable like various al- ternatives and has an ODP of 0 and GWP of 1, making it an attractive refrigerant from an en- vironmental perspective as only natural sub- stances are released into the atmosphere in case of leakage.
It also has heat recovery capabilities for addi- tional sustainability. The systems are also com- patible with the most relevant control solutions from the market (RS485 Modbus).
Dual leadership sales strategy
STEPHAN SCHUMANN HAS joined BOCK as the new managing director for sales and marketing. Together with Dr. Marcus Albrecht, the two executives will lead the international sales team and implement the compressor manufacturer’s
growth strategy.
Schumann has many years of sales experience
in the capital goods industry as well as excellent knowledge of the automotive supplier industry.
"I am very much looking forward to working with Stephan Schumann and our dedicated employees to sustainably secure and further expand the lead- ing role of the traditional Bock brand in the interna- tional compressor business," Dr.Albrecht said.

BOCK celebrates its 90th anniversary this year.
Albrecht said the focus this year will be on in- creasing sales and identifying potential partners. “In doing so, we will focus specifically on the future market for environmentally friendly and economical compressor technologies for the use
of natural refrigerants such as CO2,” he said.
