FOOD SERVICE
AUS
CHEF AND CO-OWNER OF THREE BLUE DUCKS IN BRONTE, ROSEBERY AND BRISBANE, AND THE FARM IN BYRON BAY, DARREN ROBERTSON, REVEALS HIS FAVOURITE VENUES ALONG THE EAST COAST OF AUSTRALIA.
BREAKFAST
At the moment, I’m loving Bread Social in Tweed Heads. It’s just up the road from us in Byron Bay and run by three, young gun bakers, Sam, Tom and Pauly. The place is always buzzing.
SUNDAY LUNCH
Sean’s Panorama is one of my favourite places in Sydney and is everything I love about restaurants - no frills, no gimmicks, just good honest cooking with impeccable service.
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
I celebrated the last one at Fratelli Paradiso. I love the place, there’s not a bad dish on the menu. The Fratelli guys are industry royalty to me, they set the standard
in hospitality.
BYRON BAY
The Thursday Italian night at 110 Mile Table. David Lovett rocks a tiny menu. It’s super simple, kid friendly, casual, BYO and probably my favourite, mid-week night out in Byron right now.
BRISBANE
I’ve had a couple of really good meals at LONgTIME with the Three Blue Ducks crew. They definitely bought us back from the over-tired, stressed fog that opening a new place can bring.
UNIQUELY SYDNEY
LP’s Quality Meats and Ester, there are no view of any harbours, beaches, bridges or the Opera House, but they’re both serving up some of the best food in the city right now.
