The Australian Defence Force Headquarters (ADFHQ) integrates the Service headquarters staff and Vice Chief of the Defence Force executive staff.
ADFHQ enables a strategy-led, comprehensive approach to manag- ing the ADF as an integral part of One Defence, delivering a more dedicated approach to managing joint capabilities.

JOINT OPERATIONS COMMAND
The function of Joint Operations Command is to plan, control and conduct military campaigns, operations, joint exercises and other activities in order to meet Australia’s national objectives.

SPACE COMMAND
To achieve Australia’s strategic space ambitions and lead the effort to assure access to space, Defence Space Command was established on 18 January 2022. It brings members of Air Force, Army, Navy and the Australian Public Service together under an integrated headquarters reporting to the Chief of Air Force, as the Space Domain Lead.
The Government has committed to significantly increasing investment in Defence’s Space capabilities by investing around $7 billion this decade to ensure access to Space, Space services and geospatial information.

ASSOCIATE SECRETARY ORGANISATION
The Associate Secretary organisation is part of the strategic centre of the Department and has a central role in driving Defence transforma- tion. The Associate Secretary is responsible for Defence enterprise planning, performance and risk management functions and the running of the business of Defence. This includes the integration of all enabling services – ICT, finance, estate, human resources, legal, audit, ministe- rial and parliamentary services, media and communications, and data. In addition to these duties, the Associate Secretary is the Capability Manager for Defence business information system programs which are delivering improvements to Defence’s human resource, health and information management systems including the Enterprise Resource Planning Program.

JOINT CAPABILITIES GROUP
Joint Capabilities Group (JCG) supports the Military Services by providing a wide range of enabling capabilities, including logistics support and services, health services, professional military education and training and military legal services.
JCG is also responsible for progressing leading edge capabilities, such as cyber, data link and satellite communications, and managing agreed joint projects and their sustainment.
