After launching in Sydney last year, the Lions’ Den opens the floor to aspiring and emerging business owners in Victoria. Watch as start- ups pitch their ideas to a panel of industry experts and get honest, practical feedback.
WOMEN IN FOODSERVICE AWARDS AND CHARITY EVENT (SEPT 12)
The Women in Foodservice Charity Event invites women in the food industry to be inspired by leaders and panellists Sharlee Gibb, Shannon Martinez, Melissa Leong, Katy Barfield and Jo Barrett while connecting and networking with peers. All profits from the event are donated to charity.
Immediately following the Charity Event will be the second annual Women in Foodservice Awards. Hosted by foodservice editor, Anita Connors, the awards seek to celebrate and recognise the successful and skilled women operating within Australia's foodservice and hospitality sectors.
FITOUT AND DESIGN
New to Fine Food Australia 2018, this zone showcases what’s trending for a dynamic venue fitout and design. Furniture, carpet, tiles, and music systems will all be on display with the builders and operational specialists behind the products on hand for a chat.
PIZZA & PASTRY REVOLUTION
The 2018 Le 5 Stagioni Pizza Competition returns with a hotly contested pizza
competition. Watch the best pizza makers from around the country battle it out to be crowned the country’s best pizza maker by the man crowned the world’s best – Johnny Di Francesco of Melbourne restaurant, 400 Gradi.
THE WORLD TROPHY OF PASTRY, GELATO AND CHOCOLATE (AUSTRALIAN SELECTIONS)
Organised by the FIPGC, the World Trophy of Pastry, Gelato and Chocolate is considered to be the top event in the international pastry community. This year's competition will see three talented chefs selected to represent Australia at the biannual event in Milan, 2019.
ORGANICS, NATURAL
AND FREE-FROM ZONES
With the trend for healthy alternatives fast growing, the Organics Zone is back with a focus solely on organic products. And adjacent to the Natural and Free-From zone on the show floor, this section caters for all dietary requirements.
AUSTRALIAN CULINARY CHALLENGE
Chefs, trainees and apprentices battle it out for a share of $10,000 in cash and prizes.
NESTLÉ GOLDEN CHEF’S HAT AWARD NATIONAL FINAL
Australia’s longest running culinary competition will see finalist teams from around the country cook-off live in front of an industry audience in entrée, main and dessert course categories.
