CAPABILITIES: ADIESA is an organisation that provides the vehicle for the free flow of communications between Defence and industry. It is not a lobbying or industrial organisation but aims to assist Defence and Industry by facilitating increased collaboration. A criti- cal element of ADIESA’s strategy is the formation of strong relation- ships with senior Defence officials in all areas of C4I research, de- velopment, procurement and support. ADIESA provides opportuni- ties for member companies to meet with senior Defence personnel at various functions and runs a number of Focus Groups and Working Groups. These Focus Groups include Enterprise Architectures, C4, ISR and allow early industry involvement in the force development process. Membership of ADIESA is open to Australian companies and academic institutions with capabilities in information and elec- tronic systems.

CAPABILITIES: Established in 1995, with over 800 members Austra- lia wide. AIDN assists Australian SMEs through identifying and de- veloping business opportunities in national and global supply chains as direct suppliers, individually and in groups, and via prime contrac- tors. AIDN facilitates defence and industry engagements (including Primes) relevant to current and proposed Defence and Security proj- ects; generates collaborative partnerships and industry-sector alli- ances; provides supply chain development and diversification pro- grams; researches and disseminates market intelligence; supports business missions and trade shows; contributes to workforce plan- ning; and links industry with federal and state/territory government programs and grants in skills training,

CAPABILITIES: The Ai Group Defence Council is the peak national representative body for the Australian defence industry. The role of the Defence Council is to address significant issues that impact the defence industry. The Defence Council is a forum for building and developing the shared interests of the industry through its National Executive and Working Groups which inform policy development, develop initiatives, and promote the shared interests of Defence and industry. The Defence Council brings Government, Defence and de- fence industry together for the benefit of national security and the growth and development of the national defence industry.

CAPABILITIES: The Defence Industry Courses Alumni (DICA) unites graduates of the Defence and Industry Study Course [DISC] and the former Defence Industrial Mobilisation Course [IMC] which ran from the early 1950’s through to 1991. These programs have at their core the common aim of enhancing the relationship between Defence and In- dustry. Since 2010, graduates of the Armed Services technical training streams and other specialist vocational and tertiary programs, as well as the South Australian Defence Industry Leadership Program (SADILP), have also been admitted, further enhancing that relation- ship. DICA members are employed in key positions in government or industry and following retirement many make themselves available to mentor colleagues and new graduates. DICA is an outstanding net- work of key executives and decision makers located throughout the Defence industry sector. The organisation exists to support its mem- bers and others within the sector who may be seeking professional mentoring or to locate a collaborative venture partner.
