TOP TECHNOLOGY FOR GROWING MARKETS

MATTHEWS' suite of technology solutions is gaining traction in the dairy, infant formula and ready meals and fresh produce sectors.
“Our Inspection Systems business is growing incredibly quickly within the fresh fruit and vegetable sector. In particular, exporters and those selling to supermar- kets are looking to invest in quality equipment to meet stringent compliance standards,” CEO Mark Dingley says.
“Consumers want to be better informed about what they are buying and manufactur- ers want to develop closer relationships with their end users.
“Australia is a great source for quality foodstuff and the world knows it, so proof of provenance is growing in importance. We offer several proven identification solutions to achieve those objectives and with the scope provided in our new facility we plan to build on that offering,” he adds.
Commenting on advances in technol- ogy, Dingley says the packaging and manufacturing industry is undergoing a period of rapid change and increased automation.
“Various traditional technologies are being challenged so we make it our business to remain informed. Label printer applicators, laser and inkjet printing, in various forms, remain solid contributors to our business,” he says.
“More and more, code or label validation, machine integration and single source preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance is driving new business.
“In terms of new innovations, we’ve got some exciting initiatives that we are looking forward to sharing with the market at AUSPACK in March 2019.”
