Universal launches new cobots
UNIVERSAL Robots has rolled out its new flagship e-Series cobot platform, which includes tech advances that enable faster development for a wider variety of applications.
Improvements include the ability to economically deploy more applications due to the precision and sensitivity provided by a built-in, tool-centric Force/Torque sensor.
It takes one hour to unpack the cobot, mount it, and program the first task, and a wrist-join-tool communication interface reduces production line integration time and complexity – and all joints can be replaced in two
to six minutes.
With the e-Series launch, Universal Robots now provides two different technology platforms. For customers interested in cobot capacity expansion for proven applications, the G3 is recommended, while the e-Series benefits businesses with advanced applications and diverse or uncertain future needs.
For advanced economies, uptake of robotics has been comparatively low: Australia and New Zealand currently rank 21st and 27th in the world for robotic deployment respectively.

Fast all-in-one finishing device
GRAPH-PAK has installed close to 120 high-speed industrial- quality Autobond laminators in Australia and New Zealand over the past 12 years. A new Autobond machine promises to roll three finishing processes into one, saving time and money.
The Autobond TPH SUV F series has capacity for lamina- tion, digital spot UV, and foiling in the one machine.
According to Tom Ralph, managing director of Graph-Pak, the series can achieve speeds of up to 60 metres per minute, and is compatible with substrates sized from A4 to B1 and as thick as 700gsm.
“This technology not only saves the end users massive amounts of labour and time in turnarounds, it also offers very fast make-ready,” Ralph said.
“You can now laminate single or two sides in one pass, spot UV print, and apply foil over the UV ink for the embossed look or for flat foil spot work,” he said.
Roll to roll versions are available as well as the options of inline magnet application, floor graphics, inline servo cross cutter, reel feed, and reel to reel.

SMC takes the pressure down
SMC has expanded its ZSE20(F)/ISE20 pressure switch range to include the ZSE20(F)#/ISE20# (A, B and C) series.
The range already features a three-screen display, three-step setting mode, and selectable delay time function, but the extended series will help operators deliver efficiencies in terms of control and time saving, according to the company.
The A, B and C variations share the original ZSE20(F)/ ISE20’s display, setting, selectable delay time, as well as a lightweight and compact design. All models simplify the visual process for operators, while saving time as there are fewer push button operations to perform, SMC says.
The added variations also match the terms of enclosure, output type, and media of the current series.
SMS reports customers have been impressed with the functionality of the pressure switch’s design, its ease-of-use, and accuracy of information, which is readily available with minimal delay.
