Some good news for a change
This would be very wrong
The RAC sector has delivered more emissions savings than any other sector in the Australian economy.
Refrigerant emissions have dropped by 90% in 25 years and will drop a further 85% over the next 15 years as we phase down HFC refrigerants.
That’s a decrease of 99%
Air conditioning and refrigeration equipment is 60% more efficient than it was at the start of this millennium and there’s more to come.
On any objective measure the refrigerant and air conditioning trades are delivering better service, recovering more refrigerant and making life better for people and the environment.
Even though our runs are on the board, we need to do more and we can do more.
Our industry can be part of the solution.
In a world threatened by climate catastrophe, it’s too easy to think that nothing positive is happening.
