Big Balloon and Ty donate profits to WIRES
IN the wake of the devastating Australian bushfires, plush brand Ty announced that 100% of all profits from the original sale of new Beanie Boo Katy Koala will be donated to wildlife rescue service WIRES.
Australian Ty distributor Big Balloon is also set to donate 100% of profits generated from the sale of Katy Koala to WIRES.
In a statement, Ty CEO and founder Ty Warner said that he hoped the Beanie Boo helped to raise awareness of the destruction the fires had on Australian communities and wildlife.
“Hopefully, this special Beanie Boo raises awareness around the world about the devastating fires that have raged through Australia and provides help to all wildlife affected by the tragedy,” he said. ❉

IN BRIEF
◗ BLACK FRIDAY DELIVERS STRONG RESULTS FOR RETAILERS Fuelled by Black Friday sales, the latest Australian Bureau of Statistics data states that overall Australian retail turnover rose 0.9 per cent
in November. This rise follows
a stagnant October with retail turnover not moving in that month.
“The strong seasonally adjusted rises in a number of sub-groups this month shows that the impact of this Black Friday exceeded that of previous years,” Ben James, ABS director of quarterly economy wide surveys said.
