Repair
system
for boilers
A WATER WALL boiler tube repair system for bi- omass boilers that precisely cuts tube panels with- out a HAZ (heat affect zone) and bevels for supe- rior welding end preps has been introduced by Esco Tool.
The MILLHOG Water Wall Boiler Tube Replace- ment System consists of an APS-438 Air-Powered Saw and Track System that tacks welds to the tube panel and cuts with ±3 mm accuracy; along with a Wart MILLHOG Beveler that can bevel, face and bore simultaneously. Mounting to tubes using a self-centering I.D. clamp system, it can perform any angle of bevel including 30° to 37-1/2° end preps precisely.
Fast and accurate, the MILLHOG Water Wall Boiler Tube Replacement System eliminates torches, HAZ, and grinders, and can also be con- figured for membrane removal to handle tubes with overlay. This system is ideal for tubes from 19.1 mm to 114.3 mm O.D. and the Wart Beveler uses TiN coated blades to machine carbon steel or highly alloyed tubes without cutting fluids.
The system is available in Australia. Visit: www. escotool.com

Reduce compressed air production costs
MACHINERY MANUFACTURERS AND
plant engineers relying on the pneumatic control of automated assembly lines and end-to-end packaging equipment can re- duce their operational compressed air en- ergy costs significantly with the highly re- peatable and dependable FS10i flow switch monitor from Fluid Components Interna- tional (FCI).
Many types of automated assembly lines and packaging machinery frequently use compressed air to perform embedded pro- cesses in a wide range of industries. Manu- facturers and users of this type of machin- ery recognize that the production of compressed air is a significant contributor to operating costs.
The proper measurement of com- pressed air flow lines with the FS10i switch/monitor can provide valuable in- formation to the equipment’s control sys- tem in order to optimize the air flow and reduce operating energy costs.
It performs excellent air leak de- tection monitoring and alarm- ing, which can occur due to failures of process piping, tub- ing or compressor seals.
The dual function FS10i flow switch/monitor from FCI is ideal
for trending the rate of air flow with
its 4-20 mA flow monitoring output and includes a relay output for low flow trip point detection.
The trip point and flow range are eas- ily user set in the field by technicians under actual operating conditions using simple, tactile feedback buttons. By sim- ply simulating a high and low flow while in the calibration mode, the FS10i will range the 4-20mA output signal over that span and provide reliable indica- tion of flow.
FCI’s advanced FS10i air flow switch/ monitor operates over a wide flow range from 0,076 MPS to 122 MPS. Repeatability is ±0.5% of reading. It is designed for simple insertion into threaded tees in 13 mm or larger diameter pipe.
The dependable FS10i is fast responding (under four seconds) and highly repeata- ble to both increasing and decreasing changes in flow rate. This capability pro- vides engineers with the ability to adjust
compressed air levels to variable produc- tion line demand.
The FS10i switch/monitor features a top/ front mounted 10-LED array and its wetted parts are 316L stainless steel with the flow sensor’s thermowells constructed of highly corrosion resistant Hastelloy C-22. It oper- ates in measured air temperatures up to 121°C and at pressures up to 138 bar.
The electronics are contained in a stain- less steel body and protected aluminium end cap which carries IP65/66/67 protec- tion ratings.
The FS10i is the only instrument of its type and in its price range to carry a SIL 2 compliance rating. It has no moving parts to clog or foul and requires no routine maintenance, which saves time and ex- pense over any mechanical-technology based flow switch.
