  New CEO part of reshuffle
  Global agreement
A MANAGEMENT RE- SHUFFLE at commercial re- frigeration company, Tecum- seh, has led to the appointment of Jay Pittas as CEO.
The newly appointed man- agement team includes Doug Murdock, president of the Americas, and Ricardo Maciel, president of EMEA/Asia.

 ALFA LAVAL HAS SIGNED A GLOBAL COLLABORATION AGREEMENT WITH MICROSOFT TO DEVELOP A SUITE OF INNOVATIVE DIGITAL TOOLS FOR FACILITATING SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE OF ITS PLATE HEAT EXCHANGERS.
BY USING DATA intelligence and AI, the ser- vices will enable customers to assess the need for service through digital interaction. The tools combine Alfa Laval’s extensive service know-how with Microsoft's software, data and AI expertise.
President of the company’s energy division, Thomas Møller, said customers will be able to
make self-assessments to determine if and what services are needed.
Figures show that up to 2.5 per cent of the world’s CO2 emissions could be prevented if the current installed base of heat exchangers were cleaned and maintained properly.
“With this agreement we are able to create unique customer value with high availability,” he said.
If properly serviced and maintained, Alfa Laval said its plate heat exchangers can run for more than 20 years in an industrial process. Alfa Laval has 16,700 employees.
Alfa Laval has also signed a collaboration agreement with BenLink, to expand its service offering, mainly in the food and selected energy applications.
Alfa Laval's service business accounts for 29 per cent of the company's order intake (2020).
Ernani Nunes continues to serve as the SVP of global sales & engineering.
Pittas has served as the chair of Tecumseh’s board of directors since April 2020, and has been an integral part of the compressor manufactur- er’s leadership team.
Pittas previously served as the president and CEI of Remy International, a leading supplier of highly engineered automotive parts for passen- ger and commercial vehicles.
Doug Murdock who has served Tecumseh as president and CEO for over five years will as- sume the new role of president of Americas.
Mitsubishi Electric has increased investment in Thailand.
Factory upgrade
MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC WILL invest $US18 million to increase capacity at the company’s compressor production base, Siam Compressor Industry Co., Ltd (SCI), in Thailand.
Annual production of scroll compressors will expand to 870,000 units, up from 745,000 units. The factory will increase production from Octo- ber 2022.
As part of the expansion, the upgraded factory will adopt various new environmen- tal measures, such as integrated production processes to shorten production cycles and energy-saving production methods to reduce CO2 emissions.
In the European heating-system market, boil- er-type heaters that rely on fossil fuels are rapidly being replaced with air-to-water heat pumps and water heaters in line with Europe’s decar- bonizationpolicies. ✺
     Beijer Ref buys Clima
BEIJER REF HAS signed two new agree- ments to acquire Clima Solutions, a HVAC supplier based in Auckland, New Zealand, and Patton Albury, a wholesaler based in Al- bury, Australia.
Clima Solutions is a distributor that pro- vides chillers, associated equipment and in- dustrial applications to the HVAC market.
Clima Solutions offers efficient and eco- friendly solutions that are optimised for differ- ent types of low-GWP refrigerants. With over 17 years of experience in the market, Clima So- lutions has annual sales of approximately
$US3.9 million. The company will be integrat- ed into Beijer Ref New Zealand.
The Swedish wholesaler has also finalised the acquisition of outstanding shares (40 per cent) of Patton Albury. Patton Albury offers a wide assortment of high performance and en- ergy efficient products.
Patton Albury was established in 2010 as a joint venture with Patton Australia, a subsidi- ary of Patton, the New-Zealand-based whole- saler acquired by Beijer Ref in 2015.
The company will be integrated into Beijer Ref Australia.
