 Air Movement & Fans
  Time saving
The Healthy Buildings Program targets key verticals such as healthcare and education.
Solutions for healthy buildings
HEVAC CONTROL AGENCIES has just re- leased the AWEC series EC fan control modules.
Not only do they help contractors save on costs and space, the control interlocks are an ex- cellent time-saving feature.
The aim is to replace the process of installing and wiring separate EC fan auto/manual relays, potentiometer and terminals. Instead this mod- ule combines all the parts that are needed on a small din rail mount module.
The SWBD Auto/Off/Man- ual EC fan switch connects to this module allowing users to select Auto or Manual speed control.
In Auto mode the module simply passes out the BMS 0-10vdc control signal.
In Manual mode the output 0-10v signal is set by the onboard potenti- ometer. In either mode a set of voltage relay con- tacts also close for a fan to enable interlock.
This module is available in single, triple and 5-way output versions.

CARRIER HAS INTRODUCED its Healthy Buildings Program, which is a suite of solutions to provide a healthy, safe and productive indoor environment across key verticals including com- mercial buildings, healthcare, hospitality, retail and education.
The global program was announced last month by Carrier CEO and president, Dave Gitlin.
“COVID-19 has reinforced the important role that buildings play in ensuring and protecting public health,” he said.
“As people return to work, hotels greet guests, schools welcome back students and stores reo- pen, indoor air quality and safe buildings are of paramount importance.
“For the economy to successfully recover, peo- ple need to have trust in the safety of the build- ings they are entering.
“New technologies like microscopic filtration systems and touchless building controls have gone from nice-to-have conveniences to must- have protections.”
Head of Carrier’s Building Solutions Group, Rajan Goel, will lead the new program, which provides solutions for increased outside air ven- tilation and enables more touchless interactions.
“Through the Healthy Buildings Program, Carrier’s experts will work closely with cus- tomers to not only design but operate, main- tain and upgrade buildings that protect what’s most important – the health of those inside,” Goel said.
Solutions range from IAQ upgrades to filtra- tion technologies and the OptiClean Negative Air Machine, which cleans contaminated air and creates pressure to prevent air from spread- ing to different sections of a building.

The ECFanGrid can be used in retrofit or new project applications.
ROSENBERG’S NEW ECFANGRID con- sists of a series of electronically commutated (EC) backward curved fans operating in paral- lel as a unit.
It is a highly efficient, cost-effective alterna- tive to single large belt-driven radial fans for air handling units.
Thanks to its modular design, the ECFanGrid can be assembled on site, whether in retrofit or new project applications. The ECFanGrid’s flat profile also creates up to 50% space savings.
Compared to old-style radial fan units, the ECFanGrid is easier to install, provides higher volume and more uniform airflow with less low- frequency noise and built-in redundancy for greater reliability.
Rosenberg’s Gen 3 EC motor makes the EC-
FanGrid even more reliable with advanced Mod- Bus RTU functionality, built-in preventive maintenance and reliability features – integrat- ed inspection LED, Electronic Quick-Change ca- pability, IT network support – and increased failure safety.
ECFanGrid fan units can be joined in any quantity or arrangement – 1×3, 2×2, 2×3, 3×3 – multiplying the Gen 3 motor’s increased power and providing virtually limitless application flexibility. All units within the grid work togeth- er, simplifying implementation of airflow, pres- sure or temperature controls.
