CAR CRAFT CONTINUES GROWTH
BRIEFS
THE CAR CRAFT GROUP
continues its considered and methodical growth across Australia.
In Victoria another quali- ty repair facility has been added with Geelong Smash Repairs (GSR) joining the group. GSR was last year's national winner of the Paint & Panel best medium shop award and maintains its reputation as a well pre- sented and efficient shop.
GSR owner, Paul McAuliffe, said: “The opportunity to join the respected Car Craft group presented a new opportunity to work with other progressive business- es in industry while maintaining total in- dependence. Clearly there is a buying power opportunity, but the group offers so much more.”
While Victoria and NSW are growing through targeted 'invite only' approach- es, Car Craft in Queensland (CCQ) is also building on an already strong base of over 30 shops.
Three more shops have now joined
the group with the North Queensland shops of Willmot Smash Repair Special- ists and East Coast Panel and Paint. This now takes the CCQ coverage from Cool- angatta to Cairns. Added to this is the new signing of Coastal Collision, Ma- roochydore. Car Craft General Manager Peter McMahon said: "All new Car Craft members highlight the advantages of be- ing part of the largest group of inde- pendent repairs in Australia as a clear advantage. Each of the 115 like-minded members supports each other in pro- gressing their businesses and maintain- ing professional standards".

GM AWARD FOR BASF
BASF was named a 2018 General Motors (GM) Supplier of the Year for the fourteenth time since 2002. The award is presented to suppliers who distinguish themselves by meeting performance metrics for quality, execution, innovation, and total enterprise cost. “We hold our suppliers to a high bar,” said Steve Kiefer, GM Senior Vice President, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain. “They went above and beyond to deliver the innovations and quality that will help us earn customers for life.”
EARN POINTS WITH BASLAC
baslac, a brand of BASF, is now an approved industry training alliance partner of I-CAR Australia.
Spray painters at baslac bodyshops now have the opportunity to earn I-CAR credit points whilst being trained and assessed in the use of baslac refinish products by approved baslac representatives.
baslac training courses are delivered on-site at the bodyshop by a baslac technical representative employed at an approved distributor of baslac products. On-site training is beneficial to bodyshops as there is no down-time in production or absence of staff.
