Smart coatings
SYDNEY-BASED COMPANY, PROMEK
Technologies has developed a very high specifi- cation condenser coil coating.
Boasting 30 years of continuous development, the coatings are manufactured in Australia and can be applied on site by a technician.
Promek technical director, Tony Power, said the coating specifications far exceed any others available in Australia. “All our coatings are rated at ASTM 10,000 salt spray hours and are water- based non dangerous goods,” Power said. “These amazing coatings are suitable for use on corrod- ed coils and actually improve integrity of fins which means coils can be cleaned again. Promek AMC coatings are also suited to new coils and panels and far exceed any consultant's specifica- tion.” Contractors can now offer corrosion pro- tection without relying on expensive suppliers who only use their own application teams.
Priced competitively at just $56.00 per litre the coating will cover around 2 sqm of coil face per litre. “Along with our manufacturing partners Ozkem we are continuing to develop cutting edge coat- ings using Australian smarts.”
Avoid corroded coils by using a coating that actually improves the integrity of fins.
PANASONIC HAS ANNOUNCED the in- troduction of Google Assistant and Amazon Al- exa compatibility to its entire range of reverse- cycle and cooling-only air conditioning systems, giving Australians total control, com- fort and convenience.
All Wall Split models (Z-VKR, RZ-VKR and U- TKR) and commercial air conditioning solutions featuring Panasonic’s smart Wi-Fi control op- tion lets users tailor their air-conditioning needs with a simple voice command.
Say hello to hands-free control at home or from a smartphone - anywhere, anytime.
Users just need to pair Panasonic’s WLAN Smart Adaptor (CZ-TACG1 or CZ-CAPWFC13) and Comfort Cloud App with any of the Pana- sonic air conditioners like Wall Split, Ducted or Cassette systems, then link their Google Home or Amazon Alexa using the App.
Voice control can be used for simple tasks such as on and off, operating modes, tempera-
ture settings and checking operating status - revolutionising the use of air-conditioners in the home.
For optimum comfort, a customised routine can also be created via settings in the Google Home app or Alexa Routines. Commands such as “Hey Google, Good Morning” can be pro- grammed to set the desired temperature, saving users’ time for a more relaxed and convenient day. Panasonic Australia's senior product mar- keting manager for air conditioning, Joe De Bella, said customers are always looking for greater freedom and connectivity, and the availability of voice control is another positive step for Pana- sonic’s innovative Smart Home system. “People who are used to controlling their lighting and au- dio with their voice, can now also set preferences for their Panasonic air conditioning system to create the desired air conditioning environ- ment,” he said. Reclaim rooftops with clever technology
A REVOLUTIONARY STYLE of air-condition- ing unit has been developed in Australia by Syd- ney-based company Polaris Technologies.
The company has created air conditioning that does not require an outdoor unit which is

why the Polaris Hideaway series is ideally suited to Heritage-listed buildings.
The unit is fully mounted in the ceiling and all that is seen from outside the building is a weath- er proof grille.
All that can be seen is grilles – no outdoor unit, messy pipework or electrical con- nections. The small packaged units are available in low profile 3.5 kW which are only 300mm high. It is a simple answer to the complex problem of: “where do I lo- cate an outdoor unit?” The larger 10 Kw units stand at 410mm high. Another im-
pressive feature of the Polaris Hideaway series is energy efficiency.
This is because the units use Engas Hydrocar- bon refrigerant, a green, ultra low GWP alterna- tive to synthetic refrigerants. The units are also delivered with a wired controller making it very clever plug and play technology.
Not surprisingly interest in the units from Architects and Specifiers has been extremely high. This is in addition to a high level of inter- est from local councils seeking to avoid the un- sightly image of outdoor units in clusters in car parks or rooftops which creates hot zones and breakdowns.
By using the Polaris Hideaway Series building owners can reclaim roof space and the plant- room. Call 1300 782 761
