Nova signs up to build cyber security capability
Nova Systems has joined a consortium focused on developing and delivering a platform that will help build Australia’s future cyber security capability for the Australian Cyber Security Growth Network (AustCyber).
CONSORTIUM members include Fifth Domain (consortium leader), the College of Engineering & Computer Science at ANU, the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT), and Nova.
AustCyber is the industry-led not-for-profit responsible for delivering the activities of the Cyber Security Growth Centre initiative. It partially funds initiatives that advance the Australian cyber security ecosystem.
Nova Systems will deliver information technology, cyber security, and project management for the consortium. In a statement, the company said it will use cross-domain knowledge to enable the deployment, integration, testing and validation of the CIT training facilities.
The project is valued at $1.1 million, with $547,000 funded under AustCyber’s Project Fund.
“This project will focus on two key areas for development of
cybersecurity products, and the future proofing of government and business, through the upskilling of employees in entrance level cybersecurity training,” Nova Systems program manager Greg McKinnon said.
“We will work closely with Fifth Domain to integrate the existing TAFE curriculum into Fifth domains learning manage- ment system.”
Nova Systems will use automated attack and testing platforms to develop realistic and detailed training scenarios.
Nova Systems will also identify and develop new technolo- gies and methodologies as the program progresses to evolve the training environment. The company aims to ensure students build knowledge, skills, and abilities that are relevant and desir- able to Australian cyber security employers.
The project will run until 30 June 2019.
