COMMENT
Either IFV will provide Army with a new and formidable capability. And both can do the job, albeit differently. The Australian Industry Capability approach will play a signifi- cant role alongside the lifecycle cost of the platform and its associated systems.
A major issue will be how to most effectively utilise this capability given Government’s directive for the ADF to pri- oritise its defence planning on the immediate region - the area ranging from the north-east Indian Ocean, through maritime and mainland south-east Asia to Papua New Guinea and the south-west Pacific. ■
