R&D facility for APAC market
THE CAMFIL GROUP is expanding its opera- tions globally with the construction of a new state-of-the-art facility in China.
It will be the largest Camfil manufacturing fa- cility in the world built on a total area of 40,467 square metres in Taicang City, Jiangsu province.
There is a growing demand for Camfil's air fil- trations solutions to safeguard and protect the people, processes, and the environment from the impact of poor air quality. The new plant will meet this growing demand and will be fully operational later this year.
A NEW LAB IN THE R&D CENTRE WILL ENABLE FILTER TESTING.
This Taicang City facility will be loaded with a superior research and development centre that will be equipped with advanced technology and have an ability to design custom specific prod- ucts for the Asia Pacific market.
A new laboratory in the R&D centre will ena- ble filter testing according to ISO 16890.
There will four production lines: general venti- lation filter, turbomachinery filter, molecular contamination control filter, and a new series for air pollution control along with a metal works centre for housing, air cleaner, dust collector and more.
The Camfil Group is headquartered in Stock- holm, Sweden, and has 30 manufacturing sites, six R&D centres, local sales offices in 30 coun- tries, and 4,800 employees.

AMCA International election results
THE AIR MOVEMENT and Control Associa- tion (AMCA) International has elected four new members to its board of directors.
These are: Jürgen Albig, director, product man- agement, ventilation technology, Ziehl-Abegg SE; Charlie Black, director of air-control solutions, Ruskin; Asokdas M. Damodaran, managing di- rector, Systemair India; and Mark Saunders, vice president, sales and marketing, Pottorff.
Albig has more than 40 years of experience in the fan business, with an emphasis on fans used in combination with high-efficiency motor and drive systems.
In addition to serving as director of product management, he is responsible for regulatory and governmental affairs globally for Ziehl- Abegg. He serves on the AMCA International Fan Regulation and European AMCA Steering committees and is a member of the European Ventilation Industry Association.
“This year’s candidates were among the most experienced and diverse I can recall,” AMCA International executive director, Mark Stevens, said.
The term for each seat on the AMCA Interna- tional board is three years.
