FUTURE PROOF YOUR REFRIGERATION INVESTMENT
BITZER Australia - Case Study
BITZER Customer LRT/VCT Refrigerated Transport.
Fresh produce refrigerated storage facility, for preparation of the products to be transported locally, intrastate and exported.
Sutton Refrigeration service the Murray Darling Basin refrigeration requirements. The surrounding districts are originally major producers
of grape and citrus requiring reliable and efficient Cold storage.
Extension of cold storage space was needed. This investment was to include reliable operation, efficiencies in running costs and a refrigerant with a long-term future.
The BITZER ACP Ammonia compressor unit connected to a Plate Heat exchange package chilling glycol to be circulated through the chiller units offered met
all the requirements. This simple design minimalised refrigerant charge while using BITZER’s latest developments in Ammonia Compressor Packages (ACP).
The installation took place in August 2019.
BITZER designed a simple, natural refrigerant system, that was supported with full commissioning from BITZER after sales support company Green Point.
Some of the challenges were to Minimise refrigerant charge and Simple operation.
400 kW Refrigeration capacity @ -8sst/35sct ACP-8551K-2V 2 compressors powered by 2x75kW motors and Low charge Ammonia/ Glycol heat exchange package equipment was used for the project.
Logistics challenges and subsequent coordination proved to be a key focus, as all product installation and
technical demands went very smoothly.
New Ammonia systems
are more efficient than conventional HFC systems, part load operation of the ACP unit offer further efficiencies in low load situations being some of the benefits resulting from the implementation of BITZER equipment.
The Green Point Service was excellent and beyond our expectations, great guys and great to have these experienced staff assist with start-up.
The operation of this system and the service offered will ensure Industrial clients will look to BITZER and ACTROL to install similar systems, well into the future.
