THE NEW
H
Here's wishing you all a success- ful and profitable 2019.
e're kicking off the new year with a
new look magazine, we hope you like it. We have a couple of new editorial strands for 2019, starting with The Right Direction. We're going to be following the business transformation of East Coast Paint and Pan- el in Cairns over the year, across all of our digital and print (p41) communication channels. The aim is to inspire other colli- sion repair business owners to try some of the strategies reported for their own growth
and improved profitability.
Smoko with Lozo (p40) is a new col-
umn with Steve Lozenkovski who will be seeking out and chatting to some of the great characters that this industry calls its own. If there's someone who works at your business or a supplier rep- resentative who is an interesting charac- ter, brilliantly eccentric or just the ac- ceptable side of batshit crazy that you want to suggest as a Smoko interview then email: steve@bearsgroup.com.au
It's an exciting year events wise with a packed calendar (see below) offering
you the chance to learn and network. You'll find all the information on Paint & Panel events on our website.
The industry has been slammed with a succession of 'game changers', some of them good and some of them challenging. On the good front, the giant steps forward made by the paint companies in terms of unthinkably fast apply and dry products is nothing short of revolutionary. Early adop- ters can't speak highly enough of the pro- ductivity gains, the quality outcomes and the dramatic changes that have occurred in their business. Instead of paint shops being bottlenecks, the panel departments are struggling to keep up. Make sure you gain the competitive advantage of these new technologies.
2019 could see a ACCC investigation into the industry and some game chang- ing moves in market consolidation. Paint & Panel will be here to keep you bang up to date via our website and Facebook page.
