            VACC HOUSE
        PRIME MINISTER SCOTT MORRISON
formally opened VACC House in front of automotive dignitaries, VACC directors, members and staff.
In his welcome address VACC Presi- dent Mark Awramenko said: “Automo- tive is experiencing an evolution not seen in the 130-year history of the auto- mobile. Changes in vehicle power sourc- es, fuels, how we drive – or not drive ... Nothing will remain the same.
“When one considers other trades and other sectors — like building and plumb- ing— they will change, of course, but they will not be impacted in the same
way. That is both our burden and our opportunity.”
VACC House is located at 650 Victoria Street North Melbourne. It features four levels, state-of-the-art AV, extensive training spaces, 91 car spaces and five
electric vehicle charging stations.
The building, at the forefront of modern sustainable technology, features a subtle nod to the automotive industry, including a facade inspired by the grille of the classic
Ford Mustang.
  HYDROGEN FUEL STATION
                 VIVAENERGYANNOUNCEDITWILLBUILD
a New Energies Service Station in Gee- long that is expected to be the catalyst for a network of hydrogen refuelling sta- tions from Geelong to Sydney and onto Brisbane.
The service station, expected to com- mence operations in late 2023, will be Australia’s first publicly accessible com-
mercial hydrogen refuelling station. It will also offer electric vehicle recharg- ing alongside green hydrogen refuelling, bringing together the zero emission technologies that will support Austral- ia’s energy transition.
The $43.3 million project will incorpo- rate a 2-megawatt electrolyser for the generation of green hydrogen using re-
cycled water from Barwon Water’s Northern Water Plant and is designed to facilitate the commercial deployment of hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCE- Vs) in a cross-section of industries that can’t be easily decarbonised. These in- clude road freight, public transport, mu- nicipal waste management, water treat- ment and general fleet.
