NEW BUSINESS BRINGS NEW CHALLENGES
When the Shepparton site became a nutritional plant, Freedom Foods had to install much higher security and safety protocols.
“We have a biometrics component there now, with fingerprinting and facial recognition. We have 300 truck drivers coming on our site daily, to deliver more than 500 million litres of milk. On day one we went from zero to hero. More than three hundred people were processed with fingerprinting and signing in to Rapid Global. At the end of the day, we had people asking, ‘did you turn it on?’. It was seamless.”
For McDonald, it is about having practical solutions.
“I don’t want to just tick the boxes. I want to make sure our staff are safe. I want to see how it’s applied to the people on the floor. We’ve got to get it right. In this place, safety is number one, quality as well. Production is king out there, but safety is number one.”
McDonald is working with Rapid Global on other applications of the platform, looking at risk assessment and workplace training capabilities.
