                        THE MANAGEMENT OF THE SOUTH
Australia /Northern Territory MTA’s group training organisation (GTO) set a goal at the start of 2021 to attract an in- creased number of quality automotive apprentices. Since January this year, the organisation has achieved an average in- take of 20 apprentices per month, hosting these driven young people to automotive businesses across South Australia.
The MTA’s general manager apprentice employment services, Jason Polgreen said: “It was great to see another seven new starters this week across a range of automotive trades.
“Demand is high, particularly from the crash repair sector and we continue to work with industry, government, schools and NGOs to find good applicants who are looking for a rewarding career. I’m
CHANGING OF THE BOARD AT IAG
IAG CHAIRMAN, ELIZABETH BRYAN, HAS
announced major changes to the com- pany’s Board.
Ms. Bryan will retire from the compa- ny at the annual general meeting on 22 October 2021 after six years leading the organisation. She will be succeeded by Tom Pockett. Pockett has been a Direc- tor of IAG since 2015 and is Chairman of the Audit Committee. He is also Chair- man of Stockland Group and Chairman of Autosports Group Limited.
A second Director, Duncan Boyle, will also retire from IAG’s Board at the AGM. Mr Boyle has served on the Board for five years, including three years as Chairman of the Risk Committee.
Three new Directors will be joining the Board as part of an ongoing process of Board renewal to ensure it has the op- timum mix of skills and experience to support the company. The new members are David Armstrong, George Sartorel and Scott Pickering.

large group of different technicians across varying ages, experience and needs, creat- ed a real team atmosphere. Our staff felt that their knowledge has been increased in all aspects of repairs, achieving a clearer understanding of what is critically required to repair modern vehicles successfully.
"Due to large staff numbers, achiev- ing Gold Class Collision status was a huge undertaking. Although not easy, the planning, employee logistics, cost and effort has certainly been worth- while,” Tonon said.
