  Manufacturer expands local solar operations
SENEC Home V3 Hybrid solar battery has a 20-year warranty.
A WORLD-LEADER IN innovative energy and storage solutions, SENEC Australia has expand- ed its operations by opening an office in Sydney and appointing Patrick Duignan as general man- ager of sales and service.
The German solar battery manufacturer set up its regional head office in Perth two years ago and has been making inroads into the home, apartment and mining battery storage market since then.
SENEC has just doubled the warranty for its new hybrid battery to 20 years, which alone is ex- pected to be a major impetus for all homeowners with rooftop solar to take the next logical step and add a battery.
Interestingly, in Germany more than half of PV (photovoltaic) rooftop purchases include a battery for energy storage. However, in Australia the total number of households with solar bat- teries is a low 8 per cent.
Duignan is well known in the solar industry having previously worked for Hanwha Q Cells Australia (managing director) and SMA Tech- nology (sales manager). He has a proven track re- cord in managing multi-million-dollar accounts and securing new business to underpin both rev- enue and financial success.
A priority for Duignan in his new role at SENEC will be to continue to build and grow strong partnerships and encourage more solar PV suppliers to take advantage of the support, training, education and technical assistance available to them from the SENEC team.
“IN AUSTRALIA THE TOTAL NUMBER OF HOUSEHOLDS WITH SOLAR BATTERIES IS A LOW 8 PER CENT.”
"It is rare to be able to join a company that has embraced the needs of the market and developed a premium product and service solution that is tailored based on those needs," Duignan said.
“This, combined with the backing of EnBW and the ability to offer a 20-year warranty, makes SENEC a very strong and attractive choice for the Australian residential market.
“We look forward to growing the team on the eastern seaboard with a new business develop- ment manager joining us in March.”
 Lightweight oxygen analyser
MICHELL INSTRUMENTS HAS launched a new lightweight oxygen analyser to provide accurate and cost-effective control of oxygen from 500ppm O2 to oxygen purity in safe area applications.
The XTP501 Oxygen Analyser uses Mi- chell’s tried and tested thermo-paramagnetic technology for highly accurate and stable measurements. These sensors are non-deplet- ing and will last for the life of the instrument under normal operation which keeps the cost of ownership low since only minimal mainte- nance is required and there are no consuma- ble parts to replace.
The analyser offers users a choice of ranges to ensure the best accuracy for specific applica- tions. There are six available ranges to choose from: 0-1/21/25% O2 & 20/80/90 to 100% O2 which are ideal for a wide range of application needs from monitoring trace oxygen in inert gases to ensuring the purity of oxygen generat- ed for use as an industrial gas.
The XTP501 is a highly stable instrument
at ±0.25% of span per month and accurate to ±0.02% O2, making it one of the best- performing analysers in its class. Because they have no moving parts or liquid com- ponents thermo-paramagnetic oxygen sen- sors are robust and not affected by vibra- tion or sudden shocks.
With a lightweight IP55-rated casing, the an-
alyser is compact and easily installed. Suitable for indoor installation, the IP55 case makes it robust enough for most industrial safe-area conditions such as food and beverage produc- tion, non-hazardous installations and small- scale industrial gas production. It has an intui- tive touch screen interface that is easy to use, interrogate and set up.
The XPT501 is best in class.
