SUBSTRATE GLOSSARY
SURE STRIP® PREPASTED
The next generation of wallcoverings: SURE STRIP® prepasted products utilize special paper in combination with a technologically advanced paste formula on a substrate backing to make installation and future removal easy. Simply mist the wallpaper backing with water and slip it into place on the wall. SURE STRIP® prepasted hangs and repositions easily and removes in full strips.
YORK PEEL + STICK PREMIUM
Printed on premium paper with a pre-applied adhesive substrate backing, York Peel + Stick Premium wallpaper combines the style and matte finish texture of designer wallcoverings with all the assets and removability of adhesive-backed wallpaper. Simply peel off the protective backing and apply the wallpaper to the wall. YORK PEEL + STICK PREMIUM removes in full strips.
NON-WOVEN
Non-woven is a blend of compressed natural cellulose and synthetic fibers that forms a high-quality wallcovering base. It does not expand and contract with moisture yet is breathable and resistant to tearing. Seams match simply, with paste being applied either to the wallpaper substrate backing or directly to the wall. Non-woven hangs and repositions with ease and removes in full strips.
HEAVYWEIGHT PAPER
Paper substrate backing with no pre-applied dried paste added. Unpasted paper requires paste to be applied either to the back of the wallpaper strips or the wall itself according to the product directions prior to installation. For optimum paste weight and coverage control, it is the choice of many professional installers.
HIGH PERFORMANCE VINYL
Printed on a heavyweight vinyl surface with non-woven, or osnaburg fabric substrate backing, this highly durable wallcovering smooths effortlessly, removes in full strips, and meets Type II requirements of CCC-W-408A. All high performance vinyl products are unpasted and require heavyweight wallpaper paste applied to the backing prior to installation and removes in full strips.
LIGHTWEIGHT VINYL
Printed on a lightweight vinyl surface with paper, this wallcovering provides texture, durability and is scrubbable for walls. All lightweight vinyl products require wallpaper paste applied to the backing or the wall as directed prior to installation.
NATURALS:
Made from organic, sustainably sourced products to create an all-natural surface for the wall with a non-woven or paper substrate backing. Naturals include authentic cork, paperweave, and grasscloth. Natural products require wallpaper paste applied to the backing or the wall as directed prior to installation.
