David is a member of the New York State Funeral Director Association (NYSFD), and the Nassau-Suffolk Funeral Directors Association (NSFDA), and the Cremation Association of North America (CANA).
David is actively involved with many local churches and organizations including the Kiwanis Club and the Knights of Columbus. Annually, he underwrites a scholarship in his parents name for the benefit of local P-M High School students, and he and his wife are proud supporters of the ASPCA and the Humane Society.
David currently lives in Patchogue with his wife, Jennifer, and his two dogs Chloe & Coco. In his spare time David enjoys golfing, skiing, and playing the piano.

Richard J. O’Shea Jr.
is a fourth generation
funeral director with
over 40 years of
experience in every
aspect of funeral directing.
Richard attended Chaminade High School and skipped his senior year for an early admittance into Southampton College of Long Island University at the age of 16. While in college, Richard worked in his family’s funeral home, assisting his father and brother in the family business. After obtaining a B.A. in English Literature, Richard enrolled at the American Academy McAllister School of Embalming (AAMI) in Manhattan while living and working in Queens to pursue his license as a NYS Funeral Director. Upon finishing his residency in New York City, Richard worked in his family’s funeral home as a licensed
director and assistant manager. In 1996, Richard was asked join the Ruland Funeral Home and was promoted to Manager in 2000.
Richard is a member of the New York State Funeral Director Association (NYSFD), is a Board Member and Past-President of the Nassau-Suffolk Funeral Directors Association (NSFDA), a Certified Funeral Celebrant, and a 3rd degree member of his local Knights of Columbus Council.
Daniel Prunty Director
Dan was born in
Jamaica, Queens and
raised in Rosedale,
Queens. In 1987, he
joined the New York
City Police Department
as a Police Officer. Towards
the end of his 20-year career, he decided to earn his degree in Mortuary Science from Nassau Community College. Retiring from the Police Department and receiving his degree in 2007, Dan joined The Ruland Funeral Home as a Resident Funeral Director and stayed on when he received his license in 2008. In 2013, Dan became the President of Cedar Grove Cemetery in Patchogue.
Dan is a member of the Nassau-Suffolk Funeral Directors Association, the New York State Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. He is also a member of the New York 10-13 Association for Retired Police Officers and the Sons of AMVETS Post 111 in Patchogue.
Dan is married with three children and enjoys playing the drums in his spare time.
