who had been with the company since 1971 and already managed the Audubon location, would now own and manage both locations. John was joined by his wife Marianne, who would become secretary and still works in the office full time.
In 2000, John and Marianne’s oldest son, John E. Warne, III started working for the company after graduating from college. John graduated from Mortuary school and became a licensed funeral director in October 2002, marking a second generation within the company. Shortly thereafter, Joseph W. Warne, John and Marianne’s youngest son came aboard as an intern/apprentice of the company.
The business remained Foster’s Funeral Home until August 2003, when the Warne family added their name to become Foster- Warne Funeral Home. The main purpose for adding the Warne name to such an established and well known business was to reinforce the fact that our business is “Family Owned and Operated”. This day and age it is important for families to feel cared for and comforted, something that large corporate entities often times fail to establish.
