About Us
Bill and Mary May founded the William R. May Funeral Home in Glenside, Pennsylvania in 1948. The later purchased the Glenside location in 1949 which has become a mainstay in downtown Glenside ever since.
This very building was also the home where they raised their four children and eventually their son, Harry M. May and daughter Kathleen May Seweryn would continue their legacy, operating the business together until Kathleen’s retirement after serving the community for 44 years. During this time they acquired the former Longenecker Funeral Home located in North Wales, PA in 2005 expanding the business to two convenient locations. Following Kathleen’s retirement, Harry owned and operated the business until 2022.
The “Family Tradition of Care” continues....
On July 14, 2022 Laura May Haggerty, third generation funeral director in the May family and Timothy P. McLoone, a Glenside native and longtime funeral director & celebrant officially ushered in the next chapter in the William R. May Funeral Home’s story when they acquired the business following Harry’s retirement and officially assumed operations under their ownership. With nearly 40 years combined experience and deep roots in the communities they serve, they are honored to carry on the legacy of consideration, concern, and support for each family that calls on them; the foundation which the business was founded on over 75 years ago.
