What Is Tendonitis?
Tendonitis is inflammation or
irritation of a tendon. The
condition causes pain and
tenderness just outside a joint and
can occur in any of your body’s
tendons though is most common
in shoulders, elbows, wrists and
heels. It can affect tendons attach-
ing to muscles of one’s rotator cuff
or biceps muscle.
If severe enough, tendonitis can lead to the rupture of
a tendon (ie. A rotator cuff tear), you may need
surgical repair.

What Causes Tendonitis?
Tendons are subject to the wear and
tear of aging, direct injury and
inflammatory diseases. The most
common cause of tendonitis is injury
or overuse during work or play due
to impingement of the tendons.
