Wildlife and Bird Watching.
Weltevrede is the proud home to more than a thousand Springbuck and other species are Giraffe, Hartmann (mountain) Zebra , Leopard, Ground Squirrels, Kudu, Gemsbok(Oryx), Blue Wildebeest, Steenbok, Red Hartebeest, Warthog, Foxes, Hyenas and Ostriches.
Regular Cheetah sightings are reported.
Weltevrede farm is home to at least 60 known bird-species. Exclusively one can witness the behaviour of the Namaqua Sandgrouse in the mornings, from the porch outside the rooms.
The vast and open landcapes in contrast to the Namib dunes and Naukluft Mountain range presents an excellent photographic canvas.
