Our Alden Montessori Communities
Instead of being organized into classes of one age group, Alden’s classes encompass mixed age groups. This arrangement teaches students how to learn and become increasingly independent. Younger students experience the daily stimulation of older role models, inspiring them to ‘do what the big kids can do.’ Older students blossom under their leadership responsibilities. The multi-age range allows children to learn at their own pace and
progress just as rapidly as they are able.
Students can move on to advanced work as soon as they are academically prepared for them, rather than when they reach a given grade level.
All Alden students experience the stimulation of social interaction with their intellectual peer group without having to skip a grade and feel emotionally out of place.
