In Honour of David Darling ’66
On Friday June 15th, alumni from the Class of 1966 gathered at Neuchâtel Junior College to celebrate the commemoration of a trophy cabinet with a ceremony and brunch. The cabinet bears the name of their deceased classmate, David Darling ’66 – in whose honour the cabinet was installed. Some of the attendees of this event had not been back to Neuchâtel since their graduation 52 years ago, and the visit back to campus evoked powerful memories within them.
At the commemoration, Mr. Kim Graybiel ’66 read excerpts from a letter he wrote to his parents in September 1965, describing in detail the events of the weekend when classmate David and NJC founder, Leonard Wilde, passed away. Dr. Daniel Andreae ’72, President of NJC’s Honorary Patrons’ Council, was also present at this event and shared a few words with the alumni and guests in attendance.
The beautiful trophy cabinet was placed in Neuchâtel Junior College’s Foyer building. The Class of 1966 conceived the idea for this generous gift, and its creation and installation was made possible thanks to the funds raised and donated by members of this class in memory of their fallen classmate.
Looking forward to welcoming alumni next fall for Homecoming 2019.
Pension Family Retirements Ferranti & Cossentino
This past June 2018, after hosting NJC students for nearly 30 years and 15 years respectively, the Ferranti family and the Cossentino family decided to bid adieu to NJC and retire from taking in our students. We have been so fortunate to have these two families as integral members of the NJC community.
Thank you!
