The Queen was a mechanic in the British Army during World War II when she was a
young lady!

Queen Elizabeth once rode a motorcycle. Way back when she was 19 she joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) in February 1945. Part of the course involved her learning to ride a military ‘bike, as pictured. It is believed to be either a BSA or Royal Enfield 250. She was the first queen to operate a motorcycle.
