       WHAT A GREAT DAY!
      Katie Rose volunteers
... to have a CHARITY CAR SHOW!
Fine weather and no Covid-Lockdown was all we needed to make our Car Show a successful day with a variety of cars and bikes to keep everyone’s interest.
The layout of cars in the park is certainly a signature feature of our show with many compliments that it provided a friendly and easy atmosphere – and who wouldn’t be happy being at this quiet spot on the Noosa River!!
Gerry Murphy had a good time allowing kids to sit in the drivers seat of his Porsche GTR race car for a dollar coin donation.
There were loads of special cars from the 1920s to a current model Tesla and some stunning restorations to all-original survivors.
The motorcycle enthusiasts were not disappointed with over a dozen eye-watering examples from the 2-wheel sector with a couple of 3-wheelers included – a late model Morgan and a classic old Vespa with Sidecar – very cute.
Vintage racing bikes were a big hit from members Rod Hunter, Will Johns and David Campbell with Jeff Rice showing off his recently completed and very tastefully customised Triumph Bobber.
The big winners of the day were the team from Katie Rose Hospice who put in a combined effort and gratefully received takings and donations in excess of $12,000.
It was a good day all round and a lot of fun – hope to do it again next year.
Cheers Noel
