RACQ MOTORFEST
Noel St John-Wood took a run down to Brisbane for the Show and sent in this report and some good photos.
Superb Queensland weather was just the recipe for another enjoyable day at the RACQ’s Annual Motorfest at the Brisbane Exhibition grounds recently.
My day was spent chatting with many people including some Brisbane Club members who were entrants and some just spectators.
There were loads of interesting Veteran, Vintage, Classic, and Modern cars and Motorcycles on display with their owners eager to have a conversation. Nice to talk with the new President of the RACQ Leona Murphy from Lake McDonald about her role at RACQ.
I was so impressed with the range of vehicles on display – from the 1912 Overland (Whitey) that held many speed and distance records to the latest EV models including the not yet released Kia EV6 GT and the Subaru Solterra.
The ‘end of the day’ cavalcade departure from the Showgrounds is a highlight with hundreds of people lining the exit and along Gregory Terrace for a glimpse of all the cars in motion.
A Great Day! Cheers Noel
