PRESIDENT’S REPORT
We are now into 2024 and hope you are looking forward to our Club events for the year ahead. Michel and his team have been putting a lot of time into arranging a new Calendar for 2024 and our first event was on Australia Day at the Apollonian Hotel. Despite the weather it was very good with a great turn-out of members and members cars. Lots of photos of the day on following pages. Once again Louise, Neil, George, Amanda and all the staff did a great job.
Prize Winners
Members Choice: 1966 Ford Cortina GT : Frank Lowndes
Best-dressed Aussie Lady : Joan Bruce Best-dressed Aussie gentleman : No participants! so we awarded the prize to the Best-dressed Aussie car : a Holden Ute owned by Sam Spink.
The Annual Apollonian Hotel Choice award was presented to David Torrens.
The Shed Tour on Sunday 11th February starting at 11am is a ‘combined’ event so ladies please come along. We have a sausage sizzle and hopefully a coffee van and tea – also maybe some cakes and you can race the slot cars.
Rod will be opening his shed also, and I believe the Porsche Club from Brisbane may turn up too, so members please bring your special cars which can be parked in the complex.
See details on page 13.
It is with regret that Graeme Adams has stood down as SIV and merchandise co-ordinator. John McGovern has taken on the position of SIV Registration, and we support him in this role.
The Committee has decided not to have a merchandising position and members will now need to go direct to the supplier TMM Embroidery in Maroochydore.
You can order from the TMM website www.tmmemboidery.com.au or go to their premises – full details on our Club website under Merchandise and here in BB on page 15.
Hope this hot weather cools so we can all enjoy our special cars.
Take care

VALE Ken Morris
20 April 1949 – 14 January 2024
Ken Morris, was born April 1949 in Sydney and moved with his wife to the Noosa hinterland area over 30 years ago, firstly on a hobby farm and later to a nice home in Cooroy.
He was always associated with anything that had a motor, preferably a powerful one!
From racing V8 ski boats, fast cars, trucks and even buses.
Ken was a professional driver of both long distance tour coaches and heavy trucks.
Apart from the Roadrunner club, Ken was a much loved member of the Noosa Men’s Shed where he spent much of his time after his dear wife passed away a few years ago.
A lovely gentle man, Ken will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
RIP mate.
