P. 7

On a very sunny Sunday the
annual Members Charity Car
Show was a very happy and
successful event.
A special feature of the
Roadrunner Car Club is the fact
that being a social club, we are
not tied to a single make or
marque of vehicle. So with
almost 70 cars at the 2025
Show it could be observed that
they were all different! A great
display from an old 1920s Model
T Ford to a 1950s hugely long
American T-Bird.
They were all resplendent with
shining paintwork and gleaming
chrome as they were drooled
over by the visitors.
A Members Only event this year,
with more of a casual ‘show ’n
shine’ experience. The popular
irregular layout, rather than car-
park-type rows, meant plenty of
space around each vehicle. The
motorcycles were grouped
t o g e t h e r w i t h d i s c e r n i n g
enthusiasts taking photos.
Katie Rose volunteers staffed
the public entrance; choices of
food, coffee and ice cream were
on offer; the music from the
excellent band wafted across
the turf; the Mayor Frank Wilkie
presented the prizes to the
worthy winners.

event.
THANK YOU too, to the
organising Committee and to all
the Club members who helped
in the lead-up to the day, who
turned up at 6am to set things
up, and were still there in the
afternoon to close things down –
without you there is no show !
