I think we can call our Trivia night a great success because people were still talking about it the next day, a good sign –
a brain tingling fun time had by all.
Some came along for supper beforehand, and then 50+ members and guests gathered around team-tables of 6 to play.
Will Johns was a great Quiz Master and entertained everyone with facts and anecdotes on the various questions and answers as the evening progressed.
6 rounds of 12 questions – with a few bonus ones thrown in – proved to be good fun. Will gave some extra prizes during the evening for a few ad hoc quick fire questions between rounds.
The presentation of questions/answers thrown up onto the screen provided the backdrop [front- drop !!!] to stimulate the little grey cells.
And a little imbibing helped along the way I am sure...
In fact the audience proved they had a wide variety of knowledge on motors, music, miscellaneous famous and infamous people in and out of the driving seat, and various geographical locations.
The winning team The Bentley Bruisers [lead by Tony Slattery] had a magnificently high score, but only pipped The Cadillac Champions [lead by Nicole Retty] into 2nd place by half a point. 5 points behind in 3rd place came the Wolseley Winners [lead by Malcolm King]. The ‘wooden spoons’ for lowest scoring team were awarded to The Daimler Demons – a lively group of lads from one of our sponsors ‘Autopro’.
Finally a magnificent ‘door prize’ was won by our youngest player Ayva Smith on a special late night pass with her family – hopefully a young Roadrunner in the making.
