SUNNY SUNDAY DRIVE Picnic and lunch 14th November
An early, perfect summery day with cloudless blue sky greeted drivers and passengers of 24 cars for a route-briefing at Eumundi. Then it was a couple of hours navigating the hinterland backroads, hills and winding mountains to a shady spot near Borumba Dam for the BYO morning tea/coffee picnic.
Lazing on a Sunday morning comes quite easily when there is such a good atmosphere of friends chatting and snacking. Noel outshone others with his ad hoc barista arrangements – just amazing!
Suitably refreshed we all wended our way through Imbil, crossed the Bruce and then it was down to Cooran before going over the corkscrew roads to Kin Kin where the buffet lunch was laid out in readiness at the Black Ant Café.
8 choices of meats, extensive salad selections piled high on plates, and cooling drinks kept everyone occupied while the sound of gossiping increased. Then it was time to wend our individual ways home – “living life so pleasantly lazin’ on a sunny afternoon”, as The Kinks eloquently sang!
Roll on next time ! Myra Doyle
Our next Members ‘outing’ will be on Australia Day with a ‘Show and Shine’ and lunch at the Apollonian, Boreen Point.
