Noosa Charity Car Show 2023 : Sunday 1st October Report from Graeme Adams Show Event Manager
On 1st October 2023, The Roadrunner Car Club Inc. held their annual Noosa Charity Car Show at Chaplin Park Noosaville.
The weather on the day was perfect for the event and being the Sunday of the King’s Birthday Weekend there were plenty of locals and tourists out and about enjoying the beautiful weather along the Noosa River.
We were all set up by 7am ready to welcome all of the entrants and get them parked in our preferred random spacious layout. By 8am we had 110 cars and 9 special motorbikes all set up ready to open up for spectators and the public – with a steady stream coming through the gates up until 12pm when the trophies were presented.
There was a large display of cars from all era’s as well as a unique display of collectable motorbikes.
The Noosa Charity Car Show is run by the Roadrunner Car Club Inc. in conjunction with Katie Rose Cottage Hospice with all of the profits, after costs, going directly to the Hospice who are the nominated charity for this event. Katie Rose Cottage Hospice is a fully accredited, not-for-profit, 24/7 palliative care service providing professional and respectful end of life palliative care within the community at no cost. This year we a pleased to announce that $9,060.00 was raised for them on the day.
I would like to thank all those who assisted in so many ways before and during the event. The Judging Team headed up by Will Johns did an excellent job in selecting a well-deserved winner in each category. The success of the Show would not have been possible without our many generous sponsors, vendors, local community groups and volunteers.
Regards Graeme Adams
The Gos
Cory Trophy
Gos was a well-liked and respected member who died
suddenly from a heart attack in 2019. We hope his memory lives on with members who knew him and to this end we have dedicated the Roadrunner Club ‘Best in Show’ trophy to perpetuate his name and in his honour. The trophy is kept on permanent display at the Katie Rose Cottage Hospice.
Comment from
Katie Rose Cottage Hospice
On behalf of all the Board members, staff and volunteers, I would like to say thank you so very much for supporting Katie Rose Cottage Hospice as part of your recent Car Show. We are not only incredibly grateful for the donation itself, but we appreciate that you choose each year to support us, thank you.
Your support assists us to care for the many guests and families whom we have the honour to serve during their time here. Community support and donations, like yours, make a major difference to us being able to offer specialised, palliative care free of charge to the Sunshine Coast community.
Behind every guest we help is a huge caring team and supporters such as yourself who make it all possible, and we are continually amazed at the generosity we receive from these very special people.
Again, thank you for helping us make the most of the moments that matter for our guests and their families. We deeply appreciate your support.
John Gabrielson : CEO Katie Rose Cottage Hospice
