Sports Cars are definitely a big part of our Club members attraction with plenty of open- tops from all ages for those who like the full- on experience.
Grant Turner’s recent acquisition of a sporty 2010 Peugeot RCZ was made after a practical decision to sell his award winning Ford Thunderbird which, incidentally, was Car of the Show Runner Up at the RCC Charity Car Show in 2021.
The Ford was a bit oversize for their property and Grant found himself in an endless cycle, keeping the T-Bird looking its absolute gleaming best all of the time – it was a big job and something that many of us can relate to I’m sure.
Grant say’s he and wife Rhonda are very happy with the new car and it’s made going on car runs a lot easier and carefree.
Grant kindly let me get behind the wheel of his new toy and first impressions are very positive with the Peugeot brand (as always) feeling comfortable and easy to drive all round. The power is smooth from it’s 1.6 ltr Turbo engine with Auto transmission taking away a bit of the sports car feel but it let’s you sit back and enjoy the ride. The RCZ had bigger engine options for the rev heads but this 1.6 ltr has plenty of horses for Grant and Rhonda to play with.
It’s a smart looking car with plenty of nice options and a definite influence from the Audi TT but appears more refined especially with the beautifully contoured roof line. All up, this little Peugeot is a fun car to go cruising the Hinterland roads.
