We used an agent to import it and looked at it in dismay when it arrived – the exhaust was broken and noisy, battery of course was useless, and some rust visible plus the convertible roof falling apart. All three of the engine, gearbox and differential were badly worn but worked. One of the hardest parts was to find someone who could repair the generator. The first job was to repair the brakes which were almost non-existent and every part of them was replaced. We had to bring it home on a truck.
Thank goodness the chrome-work, with lots of it, was in very good condition. :: Sandra Torrens

Sound : It’s a naturally aspirated Ferrari v8... So yeah, I’m the car equivalent of Pavarotti.
Hi, my name is ‘Sofi’ – I was ‘born’ in 2015 in Modena, Italy and dressed in ‘Blu Sofisticato’. I immediately emigrated to Brisbane, Australia where I spent my first few years. I was then whisked off to Perth for another few years before moving back to QLD in January 2022 to my forever home in Noosa. In that time I only managed to do 16,000 kms, but I have gained another 4,000 kms since January so my new owner must really be enjoying me!
Fun Facts – This is the last of the naturally aspirated Ferrari V8 engines. After this, Ferrari moved to the F154 twin turbo V8 engine.
The Maserati variants of the F136 engine use a cross plane crank and have larger displacement (4.7L), a big contributor to its signature sound. The Ferrari variant (used in the F430, 458 and California) uses a flat plane crank and smaller displacement (~4.2L), but revs to 8500 rpm. Ferrari stopped making engines for Maserati in 2022. :: Thanks! Graham Nisbet.
