>> With the conclusion of the AMA Series, and Jeffrey Herlings assault on the field this past weekend left many fans throughout the North American continent in awe. The jaw’s of many on the floor, as he absolutely obliterated the field. There was no question of who was the fastest on the circuit, leaving all to wonder what will happen at the inaugural WW Ranch MXGP event. Max Anstie as ready, willing, and able to throw his name in the hat. Replicat- ing the throw, following the conclusion of practice, he chucked his goggles into the crowd, the fans adoring his every move. He was ready for the racing to get underway. Blistering off the unusually long start, his amateur days of
a previous move to America were raring their head; as the familiar for of Eli Tomac was just a short, few seconds in front. Early on, he found a sandwich of Tim Gasjer and Max Nagl, trying his best to stay wedged between the veterans. Nagl would get around, claiming fifth for the race, pushing Anstie to sky over the Monster Energy finish line jump in sixth. The following moto, saw Max dip into the 2:06’s, and climb up obstacles such as the gigantic Monster Ant Hill, with immense focus. Shifting until the climax, he would flick the bike to the right on command, shaving just a portion of time; it would work, lap after lap, running down the number 22 of Kevin Strijbos, but never being able to make to the move. His final go around of the circuit, he would find a home in sixth, finishing here, equating to a fifth overall on the day.
