GIRLS 14+
Brook Whipple put all of her hard training from the Texas based ‘His 956 Facility’ to good use as she rode comfortably to two moto victories
in the Girls 14+ class. She was accompanied on the podium by Katelyn Clauss who scored a pair of 2nd place finishes as well as Rachel Dennis who earned 4-3 moto scores on the weekend. Whipple ripped the holeshot in the first moto and began to create a gap at the front of the pack, putting some time into second placed Lindsey Walker and the ensuing Katelyn Clauss. Clauss forced her KTM in front of the Yamaha of Walker on the 2nd lap and she began clocking fast lap times, chipping away at the gap that Whipple had accumulated throughout the race. The two of them pushed each other until the end of the race as they both put in their personal best lap times on the ultimate lap, but Whipple was able to come out with the victory with a 1.9 second advantage at the line. Katelyn Clauss was able to hold on for 3rd place. Rachel Dennis started in 5th position and she clocked robotically consistent laps in order to catch Korie Steede for 4th place on the final lap. In the second moto, Whipple took a different approach when she got out front early; this time she set her fastest lap of the race on the second lap and built up an advantage quickly, cruising to victory in the waning laps of the moto ahead of Clauss who put in another solid performance for 2nd place. Dennis started the race in 4th position and worked her way past the Oklahoma native of Walker on the second lap, riding a smooth moto all the way to the finish and earning herself the remaining spot on the overall podium.
