KILPATRICK
CARTER HALPAIN
Carter Halpain brought his tally of Loretta Lynn’s podium finishes to five after a solidly consistent year at the Ranch in 2016. The Texas native has come painstakingly close to clinching
a title in Hurricane Mills on multiple occasions, but he hasn’t been able to make it happen throughout his amateur career thus far. 2017 just might be the year that the EBR Performance / Altus Motorsports / Yamaha rider is able to make it happen as he’s been in some of the best form of his life since scoring two top five finishes at Loretta Lynn’s in 2016. Halpain devoured the competi- tion like a Thanksgiving turkey at Mini- O’s, dominating the B class to take four titles at the end of the week. He moved onto the Daytona RCSX where he captured a first place in the 450 B class as well as a second place overall finish in the 250 B class and wrapped spring nationals up with another title at the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship in his home state of Texas. JuniorMotoX was no different as the Yamaha rider took two more titles and his speed was unquestionable at the Spring Creek Regional after he took the overall vic- tory in three out of four classes that he contested. Halpain hasn’t left a major national in 2017 without earning a number one plate, he will be expect- ing to keep that streak alive at Loretta Lynn’s this year.
