>> While in the amateur ranks Surratt was a well known name with much promise. Sadly a bad year put him out of the spot light and was forced to turn professional with little support. Ryan was proposed with a deal from Bud Racing Kawasaki but the deal seemed to fall through. Surratt didn’t let all of the bad luck distract him from his goals of racing Supercross. After a discouraging first two rounds Ryan con- tinued to work hard to achieve his goals. A 18th place finish and first showing in the main event a week ago at A2 gave Surratt the confidence he needed to turn his season around.
The privateer Kawasaki rider slugged away after a lackluster start in his heat race and crawled up to an impressive 8th. Surratt struggled in the premature stages of the main event and was near dead last. Ryan was able to use his frustration on the track and moved himself through main event regulars even making passes with two laps remaining. The #338 is making progress but if Ryan wants to make Jlaw or Osborne happy he will have to step it up to keep that 338 number alive.
